Integrity, Outstanding value to markets and clients, Commitment to each other and strength from cultural diversity are the core principles that the partner believes in.

The Challenge

Our partner’s client aims to coordinate whole-of-government efforts in promoting volunteerism in Singapore. Cloud Comrade was tasked to deploy Volunteer Management systems to increase volunteer’s engagement, improve retention rates, and free up their coordinator’s time to focus on other aspects of the organization. The requirement of the company is to make it a durable and secure technology platform, to implement the best practices in security and to provide the documentation on how to deploy the security features.

The Firm’s client wanted their services to implement, manage, and support their new Volunteer Management System up to the high standards demanded by their customers along with additional recommendations to optimize the system. The infrastructure for their new Volunteer Management System needed to be highly-available, secure, and reliable.

Why Amazon Web Services?

The partner’s client required a platform to be highly reliable and scalable that could implement the services to define their process, procedures, and operational responsibilities for delivering precise infrastructure within their budget. AWS not only provides low pricing but also manages and builds global infrastructure at scale. Our engagement partner leveraged Cloud Comrade, as they partner only with the best solution providers working in the field of AWS cloud computing. They have the expertise in managing AWS services and provide comprehensive infrastructure managed services with the flexibility to build applications.

Post Go-Live, Cloud Comrade was proactive in monitoring and in-service desk support for managing the applications, database, security, and administrative tasks. Experts from Cloud Comrade’s Managed Services team utilized the automated onboarding process to make the process hassle-free and smooth for the client.

Our partner’s client infrastructure runs on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud(EC2) to compute capacity management for their application deployment. Amazon Simple storage service(S3) to store and retrieve any amount of back up data. Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) was used to create a private network within AWS to provide isolation and security. AWS Autoscaling to meet the user’s demand by launching new instances to increase the computing capacity, They also use Amazon Elastic Load Balancing which automatically distributes incoming traffic between multiple Amazon EC2 instances. Their requirement to send email updates and notifications was addressed using the Amazon Simple Email Services( SES) and all the server resources were monitored using Amazon Cloudwatch with AWS Cloud Trail to audit administrative activities.

Benefits

Moving to AWS helped our partner’s client tremendously to improve the availability of their Volunteer Management System and allow the system to operate continuously without any downtime. By deploying a high availability system they were able to make their operations and server stronger, consistent, and resilient. The partner’s client was able to meet its stringent security and compliance requirements with a multi-layered security approach.

AWS gave the Volunteer management system 3.0 the flexibility to scale the system automatically and due to its elasticity, it enabled the client to grow by maximizing the use of resources and resulting in the reduction of their overall infrastructure costs. Cloud Comrade led the infrastructure deployment with faster response times and easier integration services to their analytics and visualization tools.

The Project started on March 2018 and the infrastructure went live on December 2018
