About HealthBeats
Healthbeats is a Remote Vitals Monitoring product that connects participants to their health providers through the use of a simple-to-use monitoring platform and regulatory approved devices. HealthBeats Pte Ltd was set up in August 2018 and the company currently has 6 employees operating a business within the healthcare sector.
They build their product based on the belief by regular monitoring outside of healthcare settings which will only lead to better results. This multi-tenant system enables centralised management/oversight with flexible customisations that can be set-up easily by healthcare providers. The solution will enable healthcare providers the ability to monitor the condition of their patients and provide good quality care remotely.
The Challenge
The company aspired to offer health providers, a telemonitoring solution which is built on a cloud-based enterprise software platform to enable continuous monitoring of patients’ vital signs trending via cutting edge technology. They believe affordable healthcare is for everyone, no matter where they are and at any time it is needed. So, Healthbeats wanted to deliver this by using the latest technologies and methodologies with award-winning IoT medical devices to monitor individual health remotely.
The second challenge for HealthBeats was to combine the end-to-end administration process within a paperless process to have a paper-free future environment. That process should significantly reduce administrative workloads created from embracing remote monitoring to focus on monitoring the participants. This paperless process should cover enrolment, care plan customization, signatories and right up to inventory, billing and payment.
Why Amazon Web Services?
HealthBeats decided to engage with Amazon Web Services as it is a dynamic, growing business unit in the industry. All they needed was the right partner which would carry out their requirements in the right way and right time. Amazon Web Services directed the organisation to a leading Cloud Computing Service.
Cloud Comrade has been an Amazon Web Services reseller working with companies throughout SE Asia for the past five years. Cloud Comrade accosted HealthBeat with its team of skilled developers to carry out the cloud migration projects.
HealthBeats adopted some Services in AWS to build a reliable, secure and scalable infrastructure to provide remote vitals monitoring for its customers. It used the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) to compute and Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) for a persistent block level storage. For easy access to storage, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) was used to store for backup and retrieve data from anywhere and Amazon Route 53 (Route 53) to ensure a high level of availability. Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) to store and organize data and NAT Gateways to enable instances in a private subnet to connect to the internet or other AWS services. To monitor all the AWS cloud resources Cloud Watch and Cloud Trial is used.
As a best practice, HealthBeats has been supported with a Well Architected Framework to streamline the journey to successfully adopting the cloud. This framework is intended to support the organisation with the multilayered process. This process basically reduces the operational risk by lowering the cost and thus increases the performance efficiency to achieve its desired results. In the ever-increasing era of data breaches, Well Architected Framework prevents a third party from eavesdropping or tampering with data being transmitted and it is reliable.
We also deployed Infrastructure Managed services such as Support Coverage Hours : 24×7 for Production and 9×5 for Staging environment, Security Managed Services (Security Audit & Compliance), Security Workload Protection (Intrusion Detection & Prevention and Anti Malware), Workload Performance Recommendation, Cost Optimization Recommendation, Service Continuity Management, Administrative and Managed Billing Services for CPFI. The Phase 2 Project started in May 2019 and the infrastructure and managed services went live in December 2019
